Power Boat Club

Boat Club?
I own an RV and I am a member of an RV club. This club holds monthly rallies here and there. Now, I also own a boat (small 32′ power boat. I wonder if there is “Houston” Boat where they hold rallies on this lake and that lake every so often. Know of any? Internet is not being too helpful. Most clubs I have found are for the Elite with Mega yachts.
(OOPS – Made a Boboo) The boat is not 32′, it is a 22′ little boat – Ok ok it has a v8 in it, there!
Since I’m not in the Houston area I really cannot help you out too much on what is available. Have you though tried searching Yahoo’s groups to see if anyone has started one?
If you can’t find one you ought to give serious thought to starting your own Yahoo group. Doesn’t cost a thing and takes very little time and effort to get started. We started one here in the Washington, DC area and at last check we have 343 members. It’s a great way to keep people informed of what’s happening on the river and you really do get to meet a wonderful bunch of folks.
I’ve posted our URL below in case you’d like to see what we’ve done and offer.
Good luck!

Skipjack (Boat) $70.1 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The skipjack is a type of sailboat developed on the Chesapeake Bay for oyster dredging. It succeeded the bugeye as the chief oystering boat on the bay, and remains in service due to laws restricting the use of powerboats in the Maryland state oyster fishery. The skipjack is slooprigged, with a sharply raked mast and extremely long boom (typically the same length as the deck of the boat). The mainsail is ordinarily triangular, though gaff rigged examples were built. The jib is selftending and mounted on a bowsprit. This sail plan affords the power needed to pull the dredge, particularly in light winds, while at the same time minimizing the crew required to handle the boat.
