Fishing Boats Motors

Does anyone know about a Fishing Scott boat motor?

I have never used the motor. It is small and in good condition. It is in its own canvas carrying case with gas tank. I can email a picture of the motor. Thank you.

Most likely the 7.5.hp low profile with a single transomn clamp. They were made by the zillions in the 50′s and early 60 but finally went down for good after several outfits tried to keep them afloat (McCullac the chainsaw people come to mind.

They produced a big 3 cylinder up to 75 hp when that was a lot of go. It was distinctive by it’s huge generator/ignition combination. And short throw lower unit.

The engine you have had a “one way” carb. It’s needle and seat set up in the bottom of the float was very hard to keep going (Marvel Schulber). When Mc took them over they tried a diaphramn carb like they had on their chain saws, but it was hard to bleed out when it sat for a while.

Hope your runs, but keep it chained to the boat as they loved to “walk” off the transom in a turn.
