Going fishing tommorow and I need help?

should i put burkely 8 pound test braid “fireline” on my medium action baitcast rod and reel? (6.7:7 gear ratio). It’s the only line i have and im preparing tonight to go fishing tomor and i didnt know if it was too light/thin, or if the braid is even a good choice (once again, iys all i have). Any answers would help, thanks!
I also forgot to mention that im fishing bass in a farm pond haha

as long as the rod/reel are designed to use with braid. it will cut through stainless steel guides quickly and the reel should also have a titanium insert on the level wind that the line passes through.
